Remodel, Refurbish & More Inside Spring Newsletter

April 30, 2019 – Arriving soon in your mailboxes is Duvall Homes’ 2019 Spring Newsletter. “There is always so much to share in our newsletters, and this issue is no exception,” said Duvall’s CEO Steven DeVane. “We honor our dedicated staff and volunteer groups who together form the backbone of our mission, and we are grateful for their compassion and tireless work.

In his newsletter message, DeVane references the many undertakings staff and contractors have completed and continue with regarding remodeling of our Opportunities Enrichment Center (Adult Day Training) and group homes.

DeVane continues to work at the state level with leadership in Tallahassee on workforce development issues related to Duvall’s Direct Care staff. Through his work with the Florida Association of Rehabilitation Facilities, in partnership with the Florida Department of Education, “We are proud to be part of Florida’s first competency-based apprenticeship program for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). This pilot program is in its early stages, but we are hopeful it will elevate the important work DSPs perform and lead to greater validation, special certification and, ultimately, higher wages,” added DeVane.

Also inside the newsletter are details surrounding Duvall’s Fifth Annual Inspiration Gala. Be sure to SAVE-THE-DATE September 27, 2019 for our most important fundraiser of the year. Several announcements will be sent out during the next few months. In the meantime, enjoy an overview of what to expect at this year’s Gala, including an opportunity to reserve your tickets early this year before it sells out, inside the digital newsletter at DuvallHomes.org/Newsletters.  In the coming weeks, updates will be made to our Inspiration Gala page.

Employee Holiday Fun

Holiday Fun Employee Appreciation

December 7, 2018 –  Congratulations to employee Matt Neumeyer! Matt, a relatively new Support Specialist, guessed the closest number of candies inside the Tower of Candy without going over. The seven stacked containers had 547 pieces of candy. Lotto tickets, tea towels and money were inside the 17-inch tall tower. In total, Matt won a prize valued at more than $100, which was part of some employee appreciation holiday fun.

“I’m shocked,” said Neumeyer. “I really appreciate it!”

Accounts Receivable Specialist, Bobbie Daley, won a surprise 2nd Place gift because she guessed the next closest amount without going over. Bobbie celebrated 10 years at Duvall this past June!

Duvall’s Chief Operating Officer, Marsha Shankleton, presented the prizes. The holiday fun is part of a larger We Appreciate You employee celebration that began the week prior to Thanksgiving. Management gave each employee a Publix gift card with a thank you letter from Duvall’s CEO, Steven DeVane.

More holiday fun employee appreciation is to come!

We Appreciate You

November 2, 2019 – “Dear Duvall Homes’ Team Member, without your commitment to helping others, the people in our care would be at risk. Instead, you bring joy and comfort to them each and every day, and the impact of your generosity and kindness has made a true difference in their lives. The greatest gift you give this holiday season is your selfless compassion.” – Steven DeVane, CEO
