Our Mission Duvall Homes exists for the benefit of individuals with developmental disabilities who require extensive services and care, and seeks to provide the highest quality of life and greatest level of independence for each resident by creating an individualized plan that includes opportunities for personal growth. Licensed by Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Duvall Homes, Inc. is a Florida nonprofit 501(c)3 Corporation employing approximately 130 trained and certified professionals, with an average of 10+ years experience, who provide quality residential care and day training for people with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome and a broad range of other disabilities.

Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Current Open Shifts 2nd Shift (4 p.m. to midnight) 3rd Shift (midnight to 8 a.m.)

Job Description Assists residents with personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, transferring and/or ambulating. Assures residents basic needs are met. Provides nurturing environment with intensive supervision. Utilizes behavior management techniques appropriately. Models respectful interactions and communication with residents. Maintains professional communication with team members through written and verbal reporting to facilitate shift changes. Completes all residents reports, plans and records in a timely manner in accordance with program procedures and funding standards. Communicates medical needs and concerns with nursing staff. Complies with all agency policies and procedures. Attends and completes all recommended scheduled training.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable experience in direct client care
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Level II FBI Fingerprint Background & Drug Screening
  • County of Volusia Background Check
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds

Benefits

  • Effective 4/15/2018, starting pay is $10.00/hour plus shift premiums for 2nd shift (+$0.25/hour) and 3rd shift (+$1/hour). 2nd and 3rd shifts include nights and weekends

Adult Day Training (ADT) Support Specialist

Hiring Bonus Effective 9/7/18 – Offering a $250 taxable bonus after 3 months of employment!

Job Description Performs activities of daily living necessary in caring for ADT participants personal needs, safety and education. Assists with meal serving and personal care as needed. Conducts Self-Care and Life Skills training and personal advancement planning with ADT participants. Provides supervision and engagement in structured learning activities using educational materials for group participation, which may include off-site activities. Maintains accurate and timely record management as assigned. Ensures assigned areas are maintained at a safe level of care for ADT participants. Models respectful interactions and communication with ADT participants. Maintains professional communication with team members through written and verbal reporting. Communicates medical needs and concerns with nursing staff. Complies with all agency policies and procedures. Attends and completes all recommended scheduled training.

Group Homes Maintenance Generalist

Job Description Performs a wide variety of general, preventative maintenance and repair work. Perform maintenance on systems to ensure safety and fire/health risks are minimized. Maintains a clean and safe working environment while performing routine maintenance and electrical repairs for all facilities, structures and group homes. Specific duties may include but are not limited to: Routine inspections; electrical and plumbing repairs as needed; air conditioner and generator maintenance; appliance maintenance/replacement; flooring repair; painting; order maintenance supplies. Complies with all agency policies and procedures. Attends and completes all recommended scheduled training.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and tools
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Able to reach, bend, stoop, climb ladder and frequently lift 50+ pounds
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hrs)
  • 1 year minimum in general maintenance
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Minimum age 21 years
  • Level II FBI Fingerprint Background & Drug Screening
  • County of Volusia Background Check
