Residential assistance is provided 24-hours a day, seven-days-a-week to 104 residents from age 22 to 85. While more than half of our residents come from Florida, others come from all over the United States (24 different states including New York, New Jersey, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Connecticut, Ohio, California…) We are most proud of the fact that we have served hundreds of individuals with developmental disabilities through the years with exceptional longevity of both our residents and staff.

Residents live in one of 16 state-licensed group homes in West Volusia with transportation provided on weekdays to and from the Opportunity Enrichment Center for Adult Day Training (ADT) at the main campus on Grand Avenue in Glenwood. Open Monday to Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., residents and visiting nonresidents participate in an intensive day program that focuses on the basic life skills of daily living, including food preparation and doing laundry in an apartment setting, to a variety of curricular activities in a classroom setting. Residents and participants dine with friends, attend chapel, enjoy music therapy, arts and crafts, experiencing and empowered to achieve success in all areas of wellness. The key component for achieving the greatest level of independence and highest quality of life is the individualized plan developed for each resident. Through a combination of learning new skills, social interaction, job-training and participating in many volunteer opportunities and activities throughout the community, residents of Duvall Homes thrive in a family environment both in the group homes and at day training where the number one priority is to empower them to become as independent in their lives as possible.

We understand that each individual we serve is special and faces unique challenges, that is why the staff at Duvall Homes is driven by a positive vision set for each person, mapped out with specific goals and a step-by-step plan following detailed analysis conducted by trained professionals experienced in developmental therapy.
