Central Florida Landmark

Duvall Homes has been a landmark organization in Central Florida for decades. Our Welcome Center, Opportunities Enrichment Center where Adult Day Training takes place, and many of our group homes are nestled in the suburban countryside of Glenwood’s Bird Sanctuary among the roving oaks and palm trees and within minutes to a number of lakes, springs and waterways.

City of DeLand

Glenwood, Florida, is located in West Volusia County, 15 minutes from the heart of the historic City of DeLand, one of the state’s small-town treasures and the county seat. With Stetson University’s campus dating back to 1883, the vitality of the college town is attributed to its notable gift shops, restaurants, galleries and museums, and numerous annual Mainstreet DeLand events.

The Beauty of Volusia County

Lake Woodruff’s National Wildlife Refuge manages a national network of lands and waters set aside to conserve America’s fish, wildlife and plants. Established in 1964 as a migratory bird refuge, the refuge is rich in bird life all year round, fish and many endangered species. Containing over 5,000 acres of freshwater and more than 50 miles of waterways, which are utilized by the endangered Florida manatees as foraging, breeding and calving areas, Lake Woodruff has more than 23 miles designated as manatee protection zones.

Outside of the professional care, dedication and longevity of the staff at Duvall Homes, our location and recreational environment conducive to an abundance of outdoor activities as part of our Adult Day Training (ADT) is one of the greatest blessings that Alanson and Thelma Duvall first recognized years ago. If you’re considering Duvall Homes for a place of residency, or as an ADT participant, for your loved one, we encourage you to take in the beautiful sites of historic DeLand and West Volusia, visit DeLeon Springs State Park and its Old Spanish Sugar Mill Grill and Griddle House, take a St. Johns River Cruise Ecotour at Blue Springs State Park or take a stroll along any one of a number of our beaches, including the world famous Daytona Beach or New Smyrna Beach.
